Collect
Keep us, Oh God, from pettiness; let us be large in thought,
in word, in deed.
Let us be done with faultfinding and leave off self-seeking.
May we put away all pretenses and meet each other face to
face without self-pity and without prejudice.
May we never be hasty in judgment and always generous.
Let us take time for all things; make us to grow calm, serene,
gentle.
Teach us to put into action our better impulses, straightforward
and unafraid.
Grant that we may realize it is the little things that create
differences, that in the big things of life we are at one.
And may we strive to touch and to know the great, common
human heart of us all, and Oh Lord God, let us forget not to
be kind.
Mary Stewart

Emblem Benediction
This Emblem binds us all in one great sisterhood.
It bids us heed our conscience call for nobler womanhood.
God guide us as we wear this Emblem over our heart, and keep us
true and always fair, God bless us as we part.

Iron Jawed Angels
Special Viewing:_was held Tuesday, October 28th
In honor of National Business Womens Week, Conway BPW hosted a
showing of the movie "Iron Jawed Angels" on Tuesday, October 28th, 2008.
This movie depicts the true account of the suffragists movement to gain the
right to vote for women.
Many area working women showed support as we rallied "Get Out and Vote" on
November 4th, 2008. The right to vote is a cherished right not to be taken
for granted by anyone, and most importantly, women!

Pay Equity Day - April 22, 2008
Also called Equal Pay Day, April 22, is symbolic of that point into the
New Year that a woman must work in order to earn the same wages
paid to a man in the previous year. Because women, on average, earn
less, they must work longer for the same pay. Over a working lifetime,
the wage disparity costs the average American woman and her family
an estimated $500,000 in lost wages.
Arkansas BPW joined the Equal Pay Day events with a luncheon and style
show beginning at 11:30 am at the Arkansas Governor's Mansion located at
1800 Center Street in Little Rock, AR. The Women's Caucus of the Arkansas
State Legislature was honored. Downtown BPW of Little Rock was well
represented.
